Jackson State Building, Jackson MI: HartSilvers and Orion Engineering teamed to resolve a leaking roof + parapet wall situation. The composite sloping brick panels were reacting with the steel support framing, causing corrosion and subsequent random events of water intrusion throughout the entire roof parapet system. A method to utilize Standing Seam roofing to encapsulate the existing composite panels was employed to stop the ongoing water intrusion. This method resolved the situation quickly, for no major demolition was required and the existing flat roof assembly remained. The project was completed late 2018.
